RR 64 Speech at RNC. Prophetic, long but worth it

Makes no difference party affiliation or whether you like/disliked his politics. His speech was never heeded by either party thus we ended up in this mess. Never vote the Party vote the person.

    • You can't have it both ways. If talk radio and Fox News has a higher rating amongst the masses and the masses are sheep who do not want to think then there is only one conclusion.

    • Lead the sheeple is the approach of every Hitler providing answers. Leni Riefenstahl were alive she'd find employment at Fux News and like minded Hannity and O'Reilly.

The thing is, its so obvious to those of us who studied history. That time frame was before 800 combined scores on SAT got you into Yale and you couldn't copy all your term papers off the internet, so that may be the root cause.

Richard Lewis said it best: We're doomed.

    • Politicians vs. the banks. The banks win all the time.Politics are not where the power lies. Just as Woodrow Wilson after sanctioning the Fed.

      • Mr. Reagan was also responsible for instituting the "no fault" divorce law while "conservative" governor in California, which then spread like wildfire through the rest of the country. Then a person could get a divorce if they fell out of "love" with their spouse. A veritable economic stimulus package for lawyers, social workers, and psychiatrists. Not so wonderful for kids and families though. Thanks Ron.

      • January is over ... and your federal government managed to increase our debt by $105.8 billion in one month alone. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/national-debt-jumped-another-1058-billio
This means that in the first four months of the 2011 fiscal year (which began last October), the federal debt increased by $569.4 billion. At this rate, we are on course to make this the second-ranking year in our history for accumulating new federal debt.
This is what we're getting from an administration that claims to be worried about our debt and our future? Give me a break. The Obama administration has had its chance to tackle our debt crisis, and its solution is more government spending, or "investment." Outrageous. They want another stimulus plan!

Now, the Republicans in the House have started the ball rolling. Last week they proposed this plan to operate our government at a budget $35 billion lower than last year. http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2011/02/06/general-us-gop-spending-analysis_8294847.html
Naturally, smaller budgets mean that people and programs will need to be cut. This is exactly what needs to be happening - shrinking the size of our federal government and our bureaucracy and making government be more efficient: do more with less. This is what smart business people have had to do during this recession, why shouldn't our federal government? Instead, our government has grown. Spending has increased 27% over the last two years. How many of you small business owners think it would be a good idea to increase your spending 27% over two years while taking in less revenue? Oh ... and when I say "small business owners," I'm talking to you. Are you a head of household? If you think about it .. you're running a small business. You have all the responsibilities ... revenue, expenses, personnel, regulations, taxes ... all of it. And the money you have left over after all is said and done? That would be your profit ... your savings ... the money for your vacation ... the money you save for retirement. Can you operate your small business the way the government does? Not unless you want to go bankrupt, you cant.

Now, Democrats are gearing up to fight these Republican cuts. To Democrats, cutting government programs or employees means losing future votes and therefore their own power and prestige. Here is a prime example: http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/democrats-put-out-call-to-arms-to-special-interest-groups-to-oppose-republican-spending-cuts/#
In an e-mail obtained by ABC News, a top staffer for the key Senate Appropriations subcommittee called for a meeting of lobbyists and interest groups that would be affected by expected cuts to the Labor and Heath and Human Services budget. The Jan. 24 meeting was attended by approximately 400 people, sources told ABC, and served as a "call to arms" for those determined to fight Republican budget cuts.
"One thing everyone should be able to agree on now is that a rising tide lifts all boats, and that a higher [Labor, Health & Human Services] allocation improves the chances for every stakeholder group to receive more funding," the committee staffer for Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, wrote in an e-mail inviting people to the meeting.
Your future and our country's fiscal soundness can go to hell ... so long as we can save the precious Democrat voters from losing your taxpayer funds.

    • Reagan was a puppet, just like the current President....Save all this political BS...Spend 55 seconds watching this:

    • no you mean CNN MSNBC and other like wise crap provides proganda so the mass doesn`t have to think.I said it before...SHEEP.. thats what the avg american is..

    • That shows the failure of the American educatiob system. The idea that if someone does not support the Republican agenda then they are a Democrat is false. There are more people who register as independants than for either party. There is little difference in the two parties. The right wing think tanks creates the us against them. American education does not teach people to think for themselves. So the average American wants to be told what to think. Talk radio and Fox News provides the thinking for them and that is what they want.

here is a speech from Obama, brace yourself!
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCyPAaubENE&feature=player_embedded

    • The man appealed to those who don't want to pay taxes, and borrowed and increased the debt 4X. All he taught was, pander to the ignorant voter, and borrow from the gullible to pay for it.

While touting Dems as tax and spend, he fomented borrow and spend as solution.

Anyone who believes the words in his speech gets it right. Anyone who believes he wasn't the most fiscally irresponsible President to date, can't do 8th grade math.

      • Stick with your commentary on SLW, oh Bright Bulb. You're obviously misguided, ill-informed and insecure about your political affiliations, so you spew clownish comments like so many of your brethren do.

These "ignorant voters", as you call them, will once again put the hurt on the dimDems and banker-waterboy Obama in 2012. Bank on that. (Does Obama really think there are 58 states and Schumer thinks the three branches are House, Senate and President? LOL!)

Answer me this, intellectual liberals: If you're correct about your political philosophies, why can't the left-wing compete at the national level in political talk radio. They're disasters at the national level in the free market. Is it because most democrat voters are "ignorant voters" and are only smart enough to look for handouts, but can't comprehend the progressive pontifications? Why are CNN and MessNBC light years behind FoxNews in the ratings? This stuff doesn't happen by accident.

      • lol Obama is the is the worst..hhhmm 6 Trillion just 2 years..thats 12 trillion in debt in 4 years..god help us if some how he get elected again. No thats the worst even socialist Europe has warned him to slow down. Thats the biggest joke..for years Europe has done the same thing..now look at them..they are about to go under..and here we are doing the same thing.

      • YDM, why don’t you join us in the Triple Nine Society? <<< http://www.triplenine.org/default.asp >>> You will find an interesting discussion group that will challenge your wit and brain.

    • There's one born every minute.

    • Reagan starts the speech by saying he does not have a script then proceeds to read the speech from a script. Reagan was a puppet put in by the bankers and he delivered the country to the bankers. Real estate inflation was for the benefit of the bankers. Individuals mortgage debt soared from 1-1/2 or 2 years income to 5 years income. People were told they were rich because they were further in debt and the gullible believed it. Increased debt in the country means one thing to bankers that is more income from interest. Reagan did not bring prosperity to the country. Reagan brought debt to the country. Reagan also increased the National debt by 20% of the GDP. If you look at that facts:

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_debt_by_U.S._presidential_terms

Reagan was the first president since the end of WWII to increase the National Debt to GDP ratio except for the Nixon/Ford small .2%.

So don’t pay any attention to what Reagan read from the script he was given. That was pure politics to get elected. Look at the fact that Reagan delivered the country to the bankers and put the country in its present hole. Reagan was a great actor and read the script he was given but that is all he was good for.
