earnings.... the 'events calendar' on Yahoo, it says earnings are Monday. I dont see a date in any pr, or on Radio One's website.

Anyone know if the 5/10 date given on Yahoo is correct?

Anyway, I sold some ROIAK and purchsed half as many shares of CMLS. I just wanted to lighten up ahead of earnings.

    • It doesn't seem likely that ROIAK would be reporting earnings so soon. The ROIAK Company events page reported on Yahoo shows:

"Radio One Earnings Conference Call (Q4 2009)
      Wed, Mar 31, 2010, 10:00 am Eastern"

which is consistent with prior news releases.

And that was only about a month ago so it doesn't make sense that we should hear from them again so soon.

    • I've been lightening up also. There's just too many better things to buy...most notably, LEE.

Not sure why this has held up as well as it has. Almost smacks of a pending buyout....but that's not something I can count on, or expect.

This has become a rather small percentage of my portfolio, at this point. That having been said, I still expect it to be higher than current prices in a year's time.

      • ltf,...I've sold about 95% of my peak total shares in roiak. I was gonna sell it all, but lost my incentive when it broke under $4.70.

Now that I'm done selling, they're probably will be a going private transaction at a 40% premium on Monday.

BTW, I do own a few MNI, but sold most after earnings, which didnt impress me much. I know you mentioned you bought a few at the recent lows. I did pick up some LEE, but not MNI.

I may have this all wrong, MNI's problem, a bit like SALM, is that they renegotiated some debt and face higher debt payments. Now, I'm not saying its rational to penalize MNI for 'doing the right thing' by pushing out its debt...but people do look at p/e's and eps #'s, and they simply wont be as 'in your face' spectacular as they would have.

Anyway, I've also sold half my AHC, even though I like that one longer term, and put it in LEE for your trade. LEE may be able to put up some eyepopping numbers come earnings time.
