Share price has not priced in a dramatic slow down in the next 3 quarters. Cedar Fair's strongest annual quarter is the June quarterly with March being it's second strongest. Unfortunately, the company's CEO and CFO have guided the street lower, not higher as compared to prior year's sequential quarterly earnings growth. Looking at the quarter they are in now, the March '13 quarter is modeled to produce negative (-1.14) vs (-0.95) a year ago. The quarter after that, being the June '13 quarter is modeled by Cedar Fair to report 0.58 vs 0.70 a year ago. So looking at last year's performance is no way to make a profit in stock investing, I assure you. The only reason that the stock is trading up today, and will likely be bid up on Monday and for part of Tuesday, is the well-known dividend record date, that you need to buy the stock by to receive their div. payout in Mid March. So short term you can be lured into the stock as the dividend race is on, BUT when the div. race ends on Tuesday, watch at how the stock trades in after hours and the next morning. I will put a million on it that the stock begins it's decent on it's route to 34.00 and lower.
