sapphire cell phone article coverage shows the incredible demand from the consumer

a very small percentage of adoption in mobile device use would outpace LED demand for sapphire. The coverage of the recent sapphire article and the comments, especially on reddit shows consumers would be willing to upgrade for a fee to at least a sapphire top layered screen.

I would love to ditch a screen protector immediately for the clarity and smoothness of a sapphire screen. besides broken screens I bet the rest of people are using a screen protector with bubbles, smudges, rubbery feel or dirty edges

The article clearly states high end phone will have them this year. Possible sold as an upgrade? They need something to attract upgraditis consumers. Maybe a phone option like they do for memory upgraded versions.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Saphire screens would cost approximately 4x more than Gorilla Glass..... Not going to happen, stock looks like a great short except the short interest is already at about %30+.......

    • Deusis your post seems to have been removed because you posted a link. You mentioned phonesreview starting a race between samsung and apple. That's great. I find it very promising that appl had sapphire in their presentation at the last release so they definitely are in the lead and find it a valuable selling point. Enough so it got center stage on the slide show.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

I am having lots of probs posting, even with no links. The saf story has taken off. Love it. won't mean much till we get some real press releases involving contracts and rev for GT. Apple vs. Samsung to be first.........I am betting on Apple. They could easily tell Coring they want G. glass with a saf. laminate. That would solve the question of ......what will Corning do to beat saffire? They don't have to make something new and better, just include saffire. They already have the contacts and customers who are now using G. glass.
