"Short squeeze is a rapid increase in the price of a stock that occurs when there is a lack of supply and an excess of demand for the stock.
......in October 2008 when a short squeeze temporarily drove the shares of Volkswagen on the Xetra DAX from €210.85 to over €1000 in less than two days, briefly making it the most valuable company in the world.
I think there has to be a large open interest to activate a short squeeze. Check out the option board. There does not appear to be sufficient open interest on this puppy. Something else is in play here:
1. There are rumors about the POR
2. There actually is a POR provision for some common relief (not likely).
3. Market manipulation of this less regulated otc market. .
4. It is not uncommon for bankrupt listings to make several runs based on rumors or nothing at all.
Its AMR retreads. Sometimes being intelligent is a hinderance in this business of trading. It pays to be a complete moron sometimes in the short run. In the end all the morons lose all their money tho.
