I've been lurking on here for the last two years and just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making this a great and useful board, easily the best one I've followed. Most boards are either vacant, filled with spam or consumed by the mindless back and forth of pumpers and bashers. I'm a biochemist and since this is only the second non-biotech stock that I've invested in I've appreciated all of the useful information and expertise that's been provided along with the many humorous and entertaining posts. It's been a hell of a ride.
This was the second buyout I've been a part of (third now that STEC has been taken out) and easily the most lucrative and interesting. Considering our veggie eater's last post, it seems that he was trying to prepare people for the $5 alternative. I suspect that the blow out bid notion was leaked as leverage for Ergen to get a deal, though I know some will disagree that Son could be intimidated in such a manner. Hopefully we'll see whether that transpires after the dust clears a bit. Since I suspect that Ergen did get his deal I think he'll hold off on any more acquisition attempts and focus on Lightsquared and upcoming auctions. TMUS could still be in play, but I think it will be a while. Regardless, I'm moving on from the wireless sector.
I've been a long time investor in Halozyme (HALO) and will likely invest some of my CLWR profits there. It's been trading between $6 and $8 recently and despite recent catalysts I anticipate a pullback so shares can be acquired more cheaply. I'm also looking at the consolidation in the solid state drive industry given the recent acquisition of STEC. OCZ Technologies (OCZ) and Fusion-IO (FIO) are the obvious candidates. If anyone has additional plays of interest please feel free to share.
Best of luck to you all! Going to go enjoy what's left of the Madison summer...
