How do they expect to generate 38-39 mil in revenues this year when q. 1 is projected to come in at 6.5 mil? With q4 traditionally being an off time for this sort of business, that would require 10 mil in revenues, at least, in each of the 2nd and 3rd quarters. I don't see it happening unless this ad campaign really takes off.
<<For the first quarter ended March 31, 2004, Medifast expects to report revenues of $6.5 to $6.6 million, compared to $6.3 million for the same period in 2003. The 2003 results included a pipeline shipment of $1 million, which the Company expects to occur in the second and third quarters of this year. For the first quarter, the Company expects to generate Pre-Tax EPS of between $0.07 and $0.09, compared to $0.14 for the first quarter 2003.>>
The company has developed a recent trend of nice promises and disappointing short term performance. 1Q04 is shaping up to be another example of this. Maybe buyers are waiting until they see some of the promises come true. If MED can start delivering on their promises, we should see some nice gains.
Roger that... on the short term...and that matters more to traders. MED is delivering long term with 100% yoy gains across the board...and that matters most with investors. Hopefully they are done speculating on rosy stuff in press releases and concentrating on what they know can be delivered and the surprises will start coming on the upside.
