    Good news

WAYN reported higher earnings for the December quarter and it declined to participate in the TARP bailout. Next Tuesday we shareholders will receive our quarterly dividend. Those are all good things.

    • I live in Holmes County, about 20 miles from Wooster. I've been a customer for many years, and have always been happy with the bank, but then I'm not much of a customer - just have a checking account.

Investing in anything financial these days is a crap shoot.
Banks, insurance companies, REIT's, etc. Who knows where it's all going to end up. So far, the markets have been voting "no confidence" in the Obama programs. But we're probably due for a little rally in this bear market.

    • I've been watching this stock for years, being a customer, but fortunately never bought any. Last trade, as I type, was for $6, and probably headed lower. I don't see any insiders buying. Also, the wide spread between bid and asked on this stock is always scary.

If you are a customer, does that mean you live in the Wayne County area?

I grew up in Orrville but live in California now.

Being a bank, I imagine it could go down in the current environment, but it would stand to make a good recovery if we ever get through with the troubles with the economy.
