Why MicroSoft cannot compete and VWware competitors
Sorry about these posts but I am tired of reading mis-information.
Microsoft virtual server - The virtual server is a software. So basically you have a software (operating system) running on another software (virtual server software). It is unstable.
VMware virtual Server - The virtual server is Linux Kernel Based (kinda like Firm-ware). Very stable
The only thing out there that is better then VMware that could be a competitor but really isn't is IBM's LPAR. It is a virtual server that is Hardware Based. The best you can have. Why they are not competitors is that the LPAR is on IBM's AS/400's (big Mainframe) and their P-series UNIX systems. You can Run Microsoft systems on them but very unstable.
