BOSTON, Oct 24 (Reuters) - VMware Inc (VMW.N: Quote, Profile, Research) will not give forecasts for the fourth quarter, Chief Financial Officer Mark Peek said on a conference call following the software company's third-quarter earnings report on Wednesday.
Peek also said VMware has also not decided what kind of guidance it will provide for 2008.
VMware's shares, which had jumped more than 8 percent to about $112 following the better-than-expected third-quarter results, fell back to around $108 after Peek's comments. The stock is still up from its New York Stock Exchange close of $103.52.
I thought they said this quarter seasonal affect on deferred Revenue - increase in 4th quarter - what does that mean
Logically - if good they would have stated it. Fact they did not - it must not be good.
Used car salesman - Trust me. - keep the stock higher so insiders can sell - then they can tell you oh did not get high sale because blah blah blah.
Because it would be bad. They barely met expectations this time. Increased revs came from acquisitions, not much organic growth. Unless they keep buying up companies, their earnings will be stagnant.
