I am not encouraging you on anything, but you may want to look into EKDKQ (Kodak). It announced that it might get out of bankruptcy by this summer, and it has been moving up last a few days. Remember American Airlines (AAMRQ)? It is trading around $4 now. Kodak could be next AA.
Don't despair. Look at risks vs rewards. I started bio investing last summer and had a great run with arna, pphm, svnt, acad and a few more. Kind of got off track this year with losses in clsn and now affy but you just have to take it in the chin and move on. BTW I am still holding on to affy.
Before you even invest for real, you should "test invest" for 2 years in some sort of simulation while studying like crazy accounting, and reading up on everything related to investing in the stock market.
My theory was to invest a small amount (which I did) and learn with a small amount of real money and real stock. Best I can tell this stock was in a some what of a unique situation; So it probably wasn't a good choice for me to try and learn with.
