More Fresenius STUFF...defrauded the government case
Law360, New York (July 18, 2013, 6:26 PM ET) -- A Massachusetts federal judge on Thursday denied the U.S.' bid to overturn a jury verdict allowing Fresenius Medical Care Holdings Inc. to deduct from its taxes $95 million of a total $385 million it paid to settle civil allegations that it defrauded government health care programs.
U.S. District Judge Douglas P. Woodlock rejected the government's argument that the money was not deductible because Fresenius had conceded that no part of the settlement resolving civil False Claims Act violations was apportioned to compensatory damages in the settlement...
I'd only be guessing. Maybe he's being forced somehow to sell shares. I really don't think it matters at this point. Orwin is virtually irrelevant at this point. If you're worried that this somehow forebodes something bad, his sale actually should be comforting to you. Trading, in a circumstance like this, given the visibility here, would be clear "insider trading" and result in immediate legal action!!! He could easily wind up in jail.
