jd, until a "going forward" contract with Fresenius is done (or if already done, made public) it is not possible to know what the buyout number would be. Obviously with F in tow (as the largest dialysis company) the buyout would be significantly larger than without them as a channel for Omontys. But there is substance to your point...As soon as this news is made public (and assuming Omontys is returned, which I do believe strongly), the extreme short position (down from 50% to about 25% in recent weeks) will be in a huge short squeeze and that would push the price up in and of itself (especially since Affy does have a relatively low float).
Hey Max, what percentage of the time does a stock come down from 26 to under a dollar, then back up over 20? Its a pie in the sky lottery ticket at best. For you to strongly believe Omonty wi;ll return is saying investors are clueless with this stock trading 1.50. I find it hard to believe their is a strong possibility based on where the stock is trading now.
