want to stay on this board. relative to bk for gm or f, would be a major fault would dig into almost every industry, suppliers, freight handling, air, boat and truck. also finance especially gmac and there mtg division. if either would go down would devistate the country for years
Lots of other good boards out there (minus the trash): vwvortex for VW/Audi fanatics, motor trend for Ford and all makes, stock boards like lycos are okay, even aol has some good auto stock discussion (at least a few years ago).
This one takes the cake. remember lots of ford employees using yahoo finance when I worked there. probably explains it.
Q for anyone who actually talks stock/autos/etc., this navman234 guy seems to be pretty informed and confident and provides lots of support for his rationale. most of us can't imagine a GM or F really going bankrupt, but this guy seems to have had experience with International/Navistar going through a bankruptcy and surviving. This leads me to wondering -- wouldn't it almost be best for a Ford or GM to get to bankruptcy first (it would be bad for stockholders) and reorganize? Even if the pension fund got swept away, the govt insures it to a certain degree. Food for thought. The competition from Europe and Germany is gaining ground faster than ever and with their govt's supporting them, it really puts the Big 2 in a major Bind?
