I'm pro-ford, but a promise of big news, dave/davef/davefarish, with no mention, NONE, of what the big news might be, leaves us hanging?? Maybe the annual shareholder meeting is what you meant? News on it is below.
NEWS "HOW-TO" FOR NEWBIES: To get more longtime posters to read your posts, it will help to first go to the Yahoo News Link or to search on Ford Motor or F at sec.gov.
Find a good item that might be news to folks. Then copy its address (URL) out of your web browser to paste into your next post, then finish by adding a comment on WHAT the news is.
1. Search Yahoo News for F:
2. Search SEC for any stock by company name or ticker:
AT THE SEC.
**8-K filings are media releases (monthly sales reports, tentative earnings).
**10-Q filings are Quarterly reports.
**10-K filings are Annual reports.
Once in to one of them, click on an "Exhibit" to get the best stuff. Read "the English", even if you don't get the numbers. Some advanced people read the notes first. Numbers shown often are in millions. You can ask questions here if you ever need help. Posts that ask questions often get great replies.
The most recent DEF-14 filing at the SEC announces the next shareholder meeting in early May, the 12th:
It's to be held in Delaware!!
MY SOAPBOX. That location very obviously discourages attendance by anyone not living in the few states between NY and Virginia. Shareholders from the MidWest and West and South can take a long hike, literally. But Wall Street, other NY people, and East Coast big bankers can be there with ease and MINIMAL expense. It's not just Ford that's doing this. Over the last decades, our nation's business wealth, business income, and shareholder power have slowly moved to a few spots in the NE. GM's bankruptcy was done in NY, when it could have been done in Michigan?? Fewer people would have been mystified about what was going on and could have protected themselves better had Michigan been chosen.
DAVE-- i gave you five stars for being on-topic and not being political. THANK YOU. (I checked your View Messages, and see you "pumping" for multiple stocks. Put a fact or two behind your enthusiasm, and you'll quickly get a following. Good luck.)
