    Keystone Pipeline

During President Obama’s last State of the Union speech, he promised an “all of the above” energy strategy, including continued growth of clean energy technologies, reducing energy waste and speeding the development of domestic oil and gas …

If Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry really do support an “all of the above” energy strategy, then they must approve the Keystone XL pipeline.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2: Fraud President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, great bed fellows but lousy leaders.

    • The pipeline will flood the world oil market, dropping the price of gasoline by $1 at the pump.

This is the single most important bullish factor for Ford Shareholders.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

      • The idea that the Keystone XL will "flood the world" and reduce gas $1/gal is nonsense. In fact the price of gas should go up in the US Midwest as oil there will have a path to cheap export. That is, oil there would be increased slightly to world prices. Domestic or Canadian oil will be world prices, but the US unsustainable trade deficit will be reduced with many economic benefits by domestic oil from fracking.

A reference is the Wikipedia article on Keystone XL seems balanced and gives the history. There is no mention, though, that the reason the Republicans are so hot for it is that the main beneficiaries are the Koch brothers who are billionaire Republican funders and who seem to have taken over Wisconsin.

The original opposition to the pipeline was the Republican governor of Nebraska and the Republican legislature and constituents. They make a living enabled by the Ogalalla Aquifer which would have been endangered. Now the pipeline does have a new route and may be approved.

Either way will have little effect on Ford. The days of "Fun, fun, fun till Daddy takes the T-Bird away" are gone, gone, gone. The days when we Americans burned energy in the spirit of setting off fireworks are gone too. Up into the '60's people seemed to make a positive out of consuming energy and the cost was low enough that it didn't matter and pollution didn't either.

Why are you pumping for the pipeline?
