and housing is recovering. All in all not bad considering the Tea Bag Party said raising taxes on the "job creators" would sink the economy.

    • Lowering taxes obviously didn't enable "job creators", it mainly enabled capital flight like Romney's offshore accounts.

In July 2001 Bush /Cheney and the Republican Congress did the tax reduction. In August 2001 Bush II made a speech where he said the tax reduction was to lower the government's ability to spend. He then conducted an orgy of spending. Bush II wasn't a RINO, it was a Starve The Beast attack on Washington and the USA. For Bush II's Aug 2001 speech Google [Remarks by the President and Secretary Rumsfeld in Announcement of Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff] without the brackets.

From the bio of Grover Norquist on Wiki - "Norquist was instrumental in securing early support for the presidential campaign of then-Texas Governor George W. Bush, acting as his unofficial liaison to the conservative movement.[12] He campaigned for Bush in both 2000 and 2004.[33] After Bush's first election, Norquist was a key figure involved in crafting Bush's tax cuts.[citation needed] John Fund of the Wall Street Journal dubbed Norquist "the Grand Central Station" of conservatism and told The Nation: "It's not disputable" that Norquist was the key to the Bush campaign's surprising level of support from movement conservatives in 2000."

In the context of US Pay-To-Play politics, of course, the only question about political movements or Astroturf, particularly on the right, is who is paying for them, and why - what do the financiers expect. Astroturf is common - Propositions now on California ballots are largely financed by business interests with paid signature gatherers. One of the few recent popular ones that forced real reform was the one pulling electoral district boundaries out of the hands of the legislature to cut Gerrymandering.

    • This has been accomplished in spite of the White House Moron. Even under jimmy carter, this would have happened before his 5th year. obama doesn't have a clue if economics, just like he doesn't know what the hell to do in foreign affairs. Most INCOMPETENT president in the history of the nation!
