GOP Governors Continue To Embrace Obamacare

PHOENIX (AP)-- Republican governors once so ferocious in their fight against Obamacare now seem content to embrace it with open arms.
The conciliatory spirit among the GOP executives that was strong at their annual winter meeting of the National Governors Association held last February but is now waning as more and more governors climb onboard.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker once one of the most brazen bulldogs in the Republican Kennel, reflects the new pragmatism prevalent among the GOP governors in comments he recently made.

"People may disagree or agree with my position on this social issue or that social issue, but as long as I can help provide the uninsured in Wisconsin with insurance that's what I'll do."

In a rare move for the GOP, Republican Rick Snyder of Michigan supports President Obama's Obamacare, which when it goes into effect in Michigan will insure nearly 500,000 previously uninsured Michigan residents.
"It's about 470,000 Michiganders having a better life," Snyder said, acknowledging the divisiveness of Obamacare politics and his decision to go against the grain of GOP politics. "Going to the ER for your health care, while we have wonderful people in the ER, is not a good solution."
