He's entitled to his opinion. But a lot of what he wrote was silly. He has a lot of complaints about things done in the past. But he doesn't say that the current management has actually been great to shareholders. Using dividends and buybacks they have given back about 25% to shareholders. The current management is in my opinion very good. I believe that the CEO Colao understand that he needs to do what is in the best interest of the company. Which makes me question what Bronte's (the hedge fund manager) agenda is. Is he trying to jaw the shares down to buy some more. Has he made a bet that give me 10X returns if the deal is for all of VOD instead of a deal for just VZW? Can't tell because he's not disclosing. Either way, I have more faith in current VOD management than someone who has suddenly sprouted strong opinions on VOD.
