I have read many notes here and am still confused as who what existing holders of VOD are going to get. It sounded like the bulk was coming back to shareholders in the form of a cash payment (?) some Verizon shares (?) and an 8% increase in annual dividend (?).
I am not talking about speculation about a possible sale of the remaining VOD but just tangibly what can a shareholder expect, if the deal is approved by both entities?
Any guidance would be appreciated. New to board but now holding a significant amount due to Morningstar's recommendations over the past year. Thanks for any insight!!
it still isn't clear to me either. we may not see much of an increase in the share price since they were anticipating the buyout. in I think some people were surprised by the price paid by VZ. VOD was up 3% monday in London.I guess if we get a special dividend that will cause share price to drop.
special divy = share price - share drop - probably - it's past making sense out of this "mega deal" -
nothing is for real - "until the third shoe drops" - VOD - VZ - T - = 5 card draw - every card wild ! !
According to Yahoo there are 4.89B shares outstanding.; reports say shareholders will get $23.9B cash and $60.15B in Verizon stock, or $4.89 cash and .25 shares of Verizon stock for each share of Vodaphone held. Give or take a few pennies.
