I'm not short but why the hell is the media and WS reporting $3.68/share. The GAAP number was $3.18. On Yahoo Finance estimates were $3.30. Are all of Yhoo numbers pro-forma and not GAAP? If so this P/E and all other P/E's according to yhoo or whoever they get their data from is understated.
Shareholders only receive $3.18 so why is $3.68 the number that is being pumped?
The pro-forma number $3.68 is overstated real GAAP earnings for the quarter by 15.57%. That is huge.
Why is the financial media now reverting back to pro-forma? Didn't we get rid of that back in 2002-03. Looks like its back.
