HomeFront Cards(TM) Encourage Americans to Show Appreciation for Military Families
Tuesday April 20, 9:00 am ET
'Thank You' Cards Now Available at Sears Benefit Children from Military Families

WASHINGTON, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Military Family Association (NMFA) announced today the availability of HomeFront Cards in all Sears Full-Line stores nationwide. During these challenging times with more than 300,000 service men and women deployed, this greeting card outreach program gives Americans the opportunity to thank military families for their courage and sacrifice.

Using these specially-designed greeting cards featuring an American flag with a yellow ribbon, Americans can write a personal message of gratitude and support for family members of military personnel. The cards will be delivered to military families across the country living on or near installations with high deployments.

The cards will be available for $2 at Sears stores between April 17 and May 16, while supplies last. Approximately $1 from the sale of each card will be donated to NMFA to fund a unique summer camp for children of military families nationwide.

"The simplest words of understanding and appreciation offered through the HomeFront Cards will mean so much to military families," said Candace Wheeler, president of NMFA. "Now more than ever, we need to let military families know how much we value their sacrifices and give them strength and hope while their loved ones are deployed."

The HomeFront Card program is in addition to a recent $2 million contribution from Sears to NMFA to develop and enhance programs to address the unique challenges faced by military families. The initiative was developed as part of the Sears American Dream Campaign, the company's multi-year, $100 million commitment to strengthen families, homes and communities.
