Since the guessing is in full bloom, I have devised a game.
1) WAG will preannounce (yes) (no) [1 point]
2) Earnings will be .xx (current estimate on yahoo is .44)
[one point for correct direction, 2 points for hitting the number]
3) Share price will be up/down yy.zz on the day it is announced [one point for direction, 3 points to be within 25 cents]
4) Share price will be up/down aa.bb on 12/31 [one point for correct direction, 5 points for within .50 cents]
Most points has bragging rights and acknowledgement of his/her skills from the participants.
I'll give mine:
NP:By the late Jan 08 price will be $44/45-47
WAG is doing extremely good in terms of financial and growth revenues. If you review performance, stocks takes a dip usually in Oct-Nov but recovers strongly in Jan for last several years with weakest earnings in Nov.
Shares are trending upwards and tomorrow close should be around 37.70
1. Will not preannounce
2. will meet forecase
3. price will be 38
I looked up sales increases for Sep-Oct last year and they were double digits in each month with a whopping 16% in November. I now see this as one reason the sales have not been as high as expected - let alone economy and lower prices and competition. I hear CVS is killing WAG in Florida with coupons to transfer RX - $100 for some areas.
