Thanks Shellbeemg. Its nice to see people on this board that know something. And you are right about Buffet. In his position he prefers not to have novices like those who do not appreciate the pros and cons of splits as shareholders. I bet his board has little of this nonsensical banter on it. His investors are very sophisticated and he doesn't care about breadth of ownership. Most public companies do not have that luxury and have to keep the price of their stock afordable for the "masses" (if that term can be used for regular shareholders). The easy way to keep a stock "purchasable" by the "masses" is to use splits. However, the arrogance of ignorance is incredible.
