My guess is you know the answer to this already. The pharmacy software was due to be implemented in October 2002. Needless to say they did not hit their target.
Now this is typical Albertson BS. Did anyone in Albertsons upper management get called on the carpet for this?
ABS went with a software vendor that had NEVER rolled out a software product for pharmacy. They tried to do this as cheap as they possible could. Decisions were made based on price and politics. What else is new.
Eight months later they are not even close. If a clerk in a store makes a few mistakes ringing someone out they would get written up. If a store manager has a store that does not pass muster he could get canned.
But if upper management screws up like they did with the pharmacy software, it is ok, because they are in the office. Everyone in the office protects eachother. Good ole boy country!
