Why would you do a deal now?

When an update on OPC1 was comming in 2 months and the court case with Viacyte was going to start soon? Huh abd his buddies on the BOD terminated Dr Okarma gave him a million plus for a year and paid for his secretary. Then after a year they give him our assets for some non existant shares, warrants, and some undisclosed royalties that will never appear. we get dilluted in our ownership in assets that we owned 100% of to less than 20%.

    • The framework for this deal favors everyone but the stock holder, can't anyone build a company based on performance anymore.

    • taz: you know the answer just as well as I do!!!!

Just another stellar decision of GERN mis-management!

      Of course, IMO.

    • Tax You are the guru here and you have good insight into the stem cells area. For a man who know not much in stem cells, I do not anticipate much more in the OPC1 trial beyond what have already known: patients are safe and not much more in efficacy using the current dosage. I think the current STEM study in spinal cord injury would yield similar interim results.

The Viacyte case will only drag on for a long time.

I think refocusing the company in oncology (GRN1005 and imetelstad) is the way to go, though most people here do not agree.

    • Hey taz, im confused on something. It looks like one of the advantages for doing the deal is that we get to buy up to 8 million of biotime at an undisclosed price. To me it seems like they agreed to sell geron shareholders stock in biotime. #$%$. We have to spend money to get them that we dont have so it seems that a secondary would be offered. Please tell me im wrong and understood that part in the wrong contex. Steve
