    Viewing time lost to useless Emergency Broadcasting system should be reimbursed to viewers...

    This EBS is total BS and nothing but yet another Big Brother intrusion and annoyance and all the content providers should reimburse their viewers for the time wasted by the government when they plaster that crap on the tube.

    • I remember back in the day when you would not here of severe thunderstorm watches or warnings unless there were actually severe thunderstorms in the area. Now they classify every thunderstorm as severe and they splash the screen of every major tv network with these stupid warnings. I remember one day they're were over 100 tornado warnings posted up and down the east coast and not one tornado occured. It used to be, that by definition, a warning meant a tornado was actually spotted.

    • I agree. The govt. hijacks every communications service it can (free, as a condition of granting a license) so they can alert us to every lost cat or kid's balloon, it seems like. In my area, the authorities are lobbying to autodial or text cell phones with their "<insert adorable child's name here> alerts". They'd like to do it for landlines too but landlines don't operate under a license. They're probably looking for a way to hijack the internet for it as well. Tired of them piggybacking on my cable and phone bills (including "universal access" fees to fund library internet service).
