Comcast Corporation Message Board

  • m_totten m_totten Jan 31, 2012 6:48 PM Flag

Comcast refuses to disconnect my cable service since august

They keep granting credits and have record of receiving cable box august 2011 but insist on continually billing for cable. The company is unethical.

    • Perusing the msg board after voicing my complaint the past cpl days about the "upgrade" in the Va/D.C. area and happened uon this.

I did work for CC for 18 mos in the New Eng area which oddly enough was under the Central Region, for whatever reason I can't recall.

I worked inbound sales calls, but for a few months 'did time' taking Cust Serv inbound calls. - There are a crap-load of cust complaints no doubt, but, I did find Comcast was fair and reasonable to customers with legit complaints. ( I was going to say fair and balanced but why open that Pandora's box huh? )

But they are a corporation, every penny counts, and this is America..right?

A big problem IMO is in the inbound sales dept you were constantly being squeezed harder and harder to get every penny out of every customer on every call. Or you would pay the price, financially and pressure-wise weekly or daily from lower mngmnt.
Every call was recorded and.. hmmn ,well, I'm not going to get into much more detail..but suffice to say hopefully last night's meal was no problem because even our bathroom breaks, ( called Bio-Breaks ) were timed, and mandated strictly, even down to the seconds at times.

But beyond that I had a friend that worked for VZ on their outside sales and from what he told me they sounded more problematical for customers as far as cust relations, billing
      issues, and installation nightmares.

It all of course comes down to the Almighty dollars and I expect it may get worse rather than better for customers with both companies.

Comcast was good and fair to me as an employee, but the Corporate pressures while I was there caused a HUGE employee malaise, and I had to leave for sanity's sake.

    • Phoney your still full of baloney!!! If a custoner was in a contract with Comcast, that meant they had ALL 3 products. Thus, they had a digital box, because 1 is ALWAYS included in a 3 play bundle!!!!!! If Comcast then provided them with 2 free DTAs, how did they screw them???? In my area, any additionl DTAs are only $1.99. You are SOOOO misinformed, it's pathetic!!!!! I do believe verizon charges more than that for extra outlets!!! WRONG AGAIN PHONEY!!!!!!!

    • mayojoe, it was a ploy by comcast to keep customers away from fios. Then bam they converted to digital and screwed the customer because they were in a contract. Talk about smoke and mirrors.

    • Awww, phoney baloney, customers didn't need a box when over the air went digital, but when Comcast went all digital, of course they need a box. PLEASE get your facts straight. You are confusing 2 different timelines. Comcast advertised that when local tv was going all digital, no box was needed, Comcast still had an analog signal. TRUE. As you should know, analog chews up large amounts of bandwidth. To free up bandwidth, so Comcast could offer more choices, we switched to a digital signal, which does not require as much. We then informed customers of this change. You fault Comcast for upgrading their service? In my area, Comcast offer up to 2 free DTAs. I don't believe verizon gives anything free. You act like verizon doesn't mislead. I remember a fios commercial with all the lights and church music, and a tech saying it's "true qualm". Is there true or even false qualm? No. Just smoke and mirrors advertising to mislead customers. Once again phoney is posting baloney!!!!

    • Bob the cob, call me what you want, fact remains comcast trys to scam their former customers. Remember when they told their customers not to worry when television went digital, tou don't need to do a thing. Guess what , once the finally went fully digital the ir customers also needed set top boxes. At least verizon was up front and told their customers they needed a digital box at each of their tv sets.

    • Doesn't make verizon saints either. Saying that Comcast is the only company that has issues is not being fair or truthful. Unless phoney, you really have an axe to grind. Bottom line verizon is no better than Comcast.

    • Hey how do you know what the guy is? It is not right to bad mouth someone because you do not like their view on something. My experience with comcast is one of horror. I was never a lineman for comcast and I am not sure what a lineman is.
BTW if you know the comany so well maybe you can help us mortals who try using that horrorable phone system. They not only took our their usual month extortion but for some reason took out another $321 from my credit card. I am getting to believe it is terrible idea to give your credit card out. I use a bill system which I will so do with comcast. One day we will have others to provide service and I can leave comcast for your enjoyment.

    • I hope you asked for a recipt for returning their equiptment. Comcast has a habit of billing for equiptment they say was not returned. Tell them they will be speaking with your lawyer and they will stop the crap.
