I've been monitoring all the big Internet retailers over the past few weeks and there is no denying that salese of Vertex 4 and Agility 4 are accelerating. These drives have Everest 2 controllers, so they should be carrying a better profit margin than the older drives. I don't want to get to ahead of myself here but 3rd party sales data looks promising. Anyone find any evidence to the contrary?
Just checked the spot market price on DrameXchange. Its $0.1062 /gig for 64gb MLC.
If I'm reading this correctly, you are way off. They also list the SSD finished product price and it's showing OCZ 128gb Vertex 4 selling for a low of $0.82 / gig. That would imply a pretty good margin. Again, assuming I'm reading this right. Spot and contract NAND prices are trending down.
