Anyone have any insight as to this strategic alliance? Good run up for the longs here. I hope it continues to rise for those that took the risk to hold. Good job. But I'm puzzled by STX going to Virident instead of OCZ. Any thoughts? I can't say I have followed Virident at all so if I am ignorant of their offerings, it is because I am. lol
Here's what troubles me. The R5 was described by many as revolutionary. It blew away others in performance from what I read. If this is the case, I don't follow STX not pursuing an alliance with OCZ instead of someone else. Unless I am missing Virident's presence in this market in some way. Thoughts?
" Seagate and Virident intend to leverage their mutual strengths to create next-generation, hardware and software solutions for the solid-state storage market. In conjunction with the agreement, Seagate has made a strategic equity investment in Virident, and will appoint one member to the Virident Board of Directors."
they bough into them, they didn't buy them out. this is what i had thought might happen here during the buyout phase, it just is a lot harder to do when you have shareholders/lawsuits/etc.
this might still happen here however nowhere near what any of you all hope for. look at the price! that less then a buck per share...
