Do you really think that by not buying at Citgo you are avoiding buying Venenzuelan produced oil? The US imported 2.7 million bbls of oil per day from South America in 2006 - with Venezuela providing the largest share. It didn't just go to Citgo - it was delivered to refineries all over the US and has been sold in varying percentages by the majors and other refiners. Same can be said for Iranian oil.
I agree and do not purchase from Citgo. Although it is only symbolic, since the actual Citgo gasoline may actually be in the "BP" tanks, it does send a message to Citgo if their customers (such as 7-11 stores) report lower sales.
I will and have paid more for gas in order not to buy from any pumps with the Citgo label.
I love this nonsense....Americans are addidcted to lower prices. They will buy what ever is cheapest. Even metallic paint for their kid's dolls. Stop this nonsense. There is no more America---we live in a global economy and your job is being broken up and sent to China....and if you think you will have a pension, join The Army that is safe for now....I mean your pension. This is not 1947.
