Okay, Mix was found guilty of deleting a few txt messages. Zero evidence was lost. The trail cost the tax payer several million dollars. What should Mix penalty be for his "offense"? A 10 cents fine? A quarter seems too high.
I agree, but not for the same reasons the reflexively pro-BP shills do. This man had nothing to do with the Macondo disaster, or concealment of spill size from the US government. To the degree he deleted harmful text messages, he did so in service of BP, which walks away with no jail time (took a plea deal, but no executives tried). Is that justice? I think not. This man is a patsy, and I'm ashamed the Department which calls itself "Justice" and purports to act in my name mustered its resources to send this man to prison.
