Here is the link to the entire Business Week article regarding the Medical College of Wisconson's Botox study. Take particular notice to the fact that the study used less than the recommeded treatment dosages. Small wonder that the results were ineffective.
"Robert Duarte, director of the Pain Center at the Cushing Neuroscience Institute at North Shore-LIJ Health System in Manhasset, New York, said today’s analysis included studies with different doses of Botox, many lower than the current U.S.- approved dose, which may be why the results show only a slight benefit. "
Although the study method is questionable open to debate, it is still a positive. In the "specific population of chronic migraine sufferers" -- 15+ headaches per month -- there are very few effective treatments -- if any. So, if Botox provides relief at "a minimum of 48+ hours a month", I am sure millions of patients in this population will surely welcome this additional treatment to the arsenal. He who feels it knows what I say is true...
I've been using AGN products for years. The 1st is called Tazorac which is used for psorasis. Prices have gone up acroos the board on this cream. In the u.s. it's 137.50 per tube, in canada it's 65.00. Both prices have gone up yoy. Now Botox i was just injected with for TMJ, which also gives me massive migraine's!Bottom line is after 2 weeks no more migraine's, and jaw feels better. Now as far as costs goes, I ordered my AGN botox which for 50 units was 230.00 + 50.00 for dry ice shipping in canada, in the u.s. they will only fill 100 units for cosmetology purposes which runs 580.00 at CVS, wal mart doesn't carry botox! Oh ya, the most important part of this post is every single person I talked to about botox said use only AGN, all other cheap botox breaks down in 3 months vs. 6 months with AGN! I've been dating a gal that's a plastic surgeon, she's been floored with business as far as people spending $ on treating themselves, and i dont see it stopping!
