Staples recently cut the amount they will pay for empty ink jet cartridges from $3 to $2. That was stupid. Staples makes a BOATLOAD of money (and I mean a BOATLOAD) on recycled ink sales. What they've done is helped people like me shop around, where I've discovered Office Max pays $3 but more importantly, they are about 10% lower on their Canon-brand ink cartridges. Guess what I'm doing with my $1000 per month in ink purchases? You got it - moving them to Office Max.
What happens if more people do what I do (which they will)? Staples used to be a great store. During the past year I've seen changes that haven't been what I call customer friendly. Then they pull this.
WOW! You're a moron! With the enormous amount of deceitful people taking advantage of this program it's no wonder Staples changed it. History will also tell us that Officemax is right around the corner in changing theirs. And oh yeah, rocket scientist, Officemax gives you back only $25 per $500, while Staples gives you 10% back in rewards for every dollar spent on ink. Do the math Stephen Hawkins and you will realize Staples is the better way. And if you are spending $1k in Canon ink per month, you have the wrong machine for your needs Brainiac. And how do they make a BOATLOAD of money on recycled ink again?
