I just put out a post about the release of LTE-A. Could you tell me why we are not hearing anything about Samsung and VHC and a license since the phone was a Samsung and just like you I thought VHC patents were essential for the release. Thank you.
vhc, just my guess, but If I were a betting man, I'd say there was a tentative deal on the table with Samsung but both parties are waiting for the result of the Apple RR. Once that is determined I think you will see a deal with Samsung (and other Androids to follow) based somewhat off of that RR. Remember, Android is 3/4 of the smartphone market--do they get a little better deal than Apple?? Who knows, but if I were Czar of all the Russians with Samsung and others I'd certainly want to see what Apple gets pasted with before concluding ANY deal. IMHO of course. AND, since I'm out on a limb-is it possible that HJD puts out both the RR and the JMOL/retrial results for Cisco?? If he does both simultaneously he does no harm to the company. Do they offset or is the RR stronger news? I'm thinkin RR more important. And now that I'm at it, I don't think they get the JMOL or the retrial--but then again, I don't really care about Cisco. Bigger fish to fry in Apple AND CERTAINLY with the Android market as KL has made very clear!!!!!
