For: number of reasons..
1)succession w/Handler running show
2) combined companies are stronger than as a stand alone
3) M&A should be strong this year..JEF being in the middle market is positioned to take a good share of business
The street obviously agrees as both stocks have been on a rip since the merger was announced.. Pretty much it for me.
My guess is that we will slowly but surely see LUK continue to divest/se///spin-off their respecive businesses. For example can't see investment bankers wanting a company such as National Beef having an impact on both profitability and the stock valuation. Think that this will be an exciting transformation and if we do see an increase in M&A then JEF might be in the 'sweet spot'......supposedly have had a number of quality hires the past few years.
I used to work for UBS and now retired..but I do know JEF hired some key people away from UBS and a few others.. we will see more deals this year with JEF leading the show..have patience as shareholders will be rewarded this year..
