The technology and business strategy look very promising, but I have been unable to find any source of operational confimation. ISRG doesn't have recent updates of new hospital sites so I can't check "Firefly" and LifeCell doesn't have anything on their web site other than the local rep contact's phone #. Even the conference calls are lacking in track and trendable data. Do you have any suggestions? I remember in the early days of ISRG I even entertained the idea of paying someone to sit outside the ISRG campus and count the delivery trucks leaving the plant..(:-)
During each of the 2012 quarterly CC's, there was an indication that the placement of NVDQ devices in hospitals was increasing by about 100 per quarter and at last count had reached 600 hospitals. If you have a couple of hours to spend listening in to the Investor Day CC you will find it incredibly informative.
That is historical information. What I'm looking for is how they are doing now, before the conference call. Example: For ISRG I can track and trend newly listed surgeons and get a surrogate for recurring and new system sales.
