With the US market being a major source of potential income for Novadaq, What is the effect of Obamacare on all of the companies products.?Do companies like Novadaq face a huge road block with this new healthcare structure...?
Why are so many people so clueless about Obamacare - oh, that's right, because the conservatives have spent millions bashing it. So, on the day that NVDQ's share price hits an all-time high, you think that Obamacare is a looming issue. Most healthcare sectors/stocks are dramatically higher since Obamacare was enacted - why do you think that is?? The reality is that Obamacare (like most legislation coming out of Washington) is a POS bill that was for the most part written by the healthcare industry to benefit them (more people covered by insurance and not very much in the way of price controls) - take advantage of that by investing in the healthcare industry before it bankrupts the country and has to be restructured like the banking industry!
And what would be the effect on Novadaq's finances if there were a repeal of Obamacare's medical device tax? This is a possibility, the idea being put forth by some legislators as a bargaining chip in the government shutdown skirmish. Others have the opinion that repeal belongs in the debt ceiling battle. Either way, it might happen in the near future.

No no no Msr. It's as Nancy Puhlousy said "We have to pass this bill to know what's in it" and many of us (some actually still working) just do not have hundreds of hours to read the Bible of Ambiguity
It is likely to be the opposite of a roadblock. Some of the best evidence of the effectiveness of Novadaq's technology in cardiology comes from statistics compiled by medicare. This is the kind of thing they are likely to encourage or maybe even require.
Thanks for the posting, Where have you been?? lol. Even if Medicare does not make the use of the equipment a requirement for certain operations, it seems increasingly evident to me that it is only a matter of time that the medical industry begins to encorporate Pinpoint as Stanard of Care for a number of applications.
Hospitals get reimbursed based on a set healthcare diagnosis. It does not matter what the hospital spends on treating the patient, the reimbursement is the same. So having a technology that can aid in getting the problem fixed with the least amount of money spent on the patient is imperative. Discharging the patient as quickly as possible and maximizing profits is the goal. NVDQ's technology will help in this process by ensuring good perfusion status post operative procedures. It helps to minimize post operative complications. Part of its technology means no radiation exposure to healthcare professionals which is a great selling feature.

You are exactly correct! In addition the Medical Device Tax which was passed to help pay for Obamacare will only kill innovation which comes from small companies many who are not yet cash flow positive and investors risking their capital. If 2.5 percent of sales go to the government it increases the risk.
The House Republicans passed a bill repealing the Medical Device Tax over a year ago, Harry Reid refused to bring it to the floor of the Senate. Now there is a good chance it will be repealed, as it should be with the rest of the nightmare of Obamacare: a 2000 page law put together by Congressional staffers of one political party with no debate and had to be passed "so we could find out what was in it" in the wee hours of a weekend morning.
Things that irritates me the most is that Obama promised that the law would be put online for several days before it was voted on. Where was the Due Diligence??? So what we have now is an unworkable monstrosity.
