Yappn signed an initial agreement to license its social media platform to Rallee a voice based iPhone and Android app for Facebook (FB). The testing of Rallee has yielded good results, and the full rollout is expected in September 2013. Yappn will provide Rallee with the tools for enabling topic based text chat, allowing Rallee users to move from voice to text chat in almost 70 languages with one push of a button. Users will also have an up to the minute topic feed from Yappn that includes Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram and other social media outlets in their selected native language. The combined product will be made available to international telecom carriers and via major social media networks. As per the agreement, even Rallee will provide license of its technology to Yappn for use in the Yappn community, and as part of the Yappn tool set offering. So Yappn users will be able to move from the Yappn page to a voice based platform allowing interested parties to continue the conversation beyond text. As per the press release, future plans are underway to make the voice chat multi-lingual as well. This is another positive development before the launch. Recently, the company had signed an initial agreement with TSI Sports to begin support of online communications programs for organized youth sports teams. That arrangement will lead to revenue flows from league programs and sponsorships by premium partners. All of these sports teams will have their own Yappn page where interactions can take place in any language. Deals like this help increase the awareness about Yappn's platform, and will be beneficial in various ways. More details about the arrangement with Rallee have not been mentioned in the press release. The structure of the deal and other terms will help understand the expected strategic and financial impact better.
