Renee, IMHO at this stage of the product life cycle the management and staff of this firm are establishing credability. They are doing this by doing the following:
o Managing the expectation of their customers o Managing the quality and performance of the product o Managing the distribution to select customers o Managing all peripheral functions related to the product o Other management functions related to the establishment of credability
All of the above functions require the establishment of standard processes and procedures that will allow larger numbers of employees to perform these functions at a standard level of competancy.
My guess is that the folks at Capstone are managing the growth of their business in such a way that will not only allow for an increase in production numbers year over year, but will also provide higher performance and quality capabilities as their products mature.
Bottom line: IMHO when these folks are ready for higher dollar orders they will get these orders with no loss in performance or quality.
