They just recently said they will achieve a 20% annualizes EPS growth over the next 5 years.
They didn't say anything about a massive dilutive acquisition.
They up the growth growth rate for next year. And finally we will begin to get back to high double digit earnings growth. They suckered in the investors by misleading them by not telling them about this acquisition, if it is true.
If it is true, they have alot of explaining to do to the investors that recently bought the stock in the high 60's based on their announcements a few weeks ago.
Its not as if this is something that happened that is out of their control. This is totally in their control to do an acquisition or not.
Now that the investments made over the past few years will just start to pay off with high earnings growth, which they were boasting about a few weeks ago, why the hell do a massively dilutive acquisition. They dont need the pipeline.
Merck or BMY need to be looking for acquisitons, not AMGN.
This is total bullshit, and management was totally misleading its investors if its true.
agreed! those buying on amgn comments were misled. Obviously the company had insight into acquisition reported today, yet sought NOT to inform investors of the negative implications for the price of the stock. How many feel taken?
