It's hard to see the benefit of the Windows only strategy with these continued bad earnings and revenue reports . This all or nothing plan seems to defy logic , when the Android has been available for free for years . Surely NOK can make a cheap basic phone for emerging markets that will turn a profit . This all consuming Windows attempt baffles me . All resources are focused on helping MSFT and to hell with NOK shareholders. We know now that if the Lumia phone fails , NOK will cease to exist.Without a doubt ,Elop will defend his decisions to the bitter end , and probably defend them after NOK's demise as the right decisions. Yeah ,right if you're a MSFT shareholder.
It is not baffling, they would go out of business trying to compete in android market. to many competitors. WP gives them a chance to regain their position at the top. Whether that works or not we are still all wondering. The decision to go this route was the only one they could make. The execution of it has been poor.
The cost to Nokia, unlike others is zero. Msft is covering the cost of the software. So it is free for nokia only.
