Nokia does not have a PR department.
Who does their Lumia announcements? AT&T does.
Who does their Lumia OS upgrade announcements? MSFT does.
Who does their Lumia Sales Announcements? Internal parties with cakes.
Who does their Lumia App Exclusive announcements? Bloggers.
Who does their Lumia TV commercials? MSFT does.
Ever wonder why there are more Lumia 822 Verizon commercials than there are Lumia 920 commercials from AT&T?
Ever wonder why you have never seen an AT&T commercial that actually promotes the distinguishing features of the L920 that separates itself from the other WP phones? Ever wonder why those commercials haven't shown the wireless charging feature of the 920? the super sensitive screen? the off-line drive/mapping?
Nokia PR/Sales department is comatose. PERIOD. They are so detached from what features are in a Nokia smartphone, that they can't honestly PROMOTE the device.
The BOD and Elop should be fired. PERIOD.
Bring out plan B, denial is the first sign of recovery.
An ANDROID based Lumia will outsell the Lumia WP8 by a factor of 5X. Same hardware, same promotion, it will flat out sell more devices. Time to light a fire under MSFT and the Premier Partner advantage.
Finally, some of you are begining to get a grasp of what is ailing NOKIA, LOL. I have been saying this for a long time now. This is a company with wonderful phones and brilliant engineers handicapped by the worst marketing strategy ever devised, IMO. It doesn't have to continue so. They can just learn from their mistakes, change and/or adopt and move on, but NO!!! This is what scares me about NOKIA's leadership, very rigid and stubborn to the point of destroying the co. Don't they have outside consultants advising them as to how to rectify the situation?
They should hire the street ho's like the competition does. They would publish smut about competitors on an hourly basis. Look at today's articles making the rounds. Nokia could do the same just have them change the names. LOL
I believe the PR dept has been shut down for cost saving. So is the marketing dept, imo. LOL. What else can I think of? At least he is not shutting the engineering group, nokia"s brains, imo.
