Microsoft's taking a stake in Apple was a completely different ballgame at a completely different time. It was done, not for altruistic reasons. They did it because accusations of being a monopoly were starting to surface. These were the browser wars days. What possible reason could Microsoft have for investing in a stake in Nokia??? They have all the control they want right now, just as things are. Plus Microsoft keeps their options open with respect to simply "zuning" the entire relationship should anything change. I get that Nokia invesgtors would LOVE for Microsoft to take a stake, but what's in it for Microsoft?? Nothing, that's what.
