Leaves Nokia with $20B in cash: 12.64B + 7.2B= ~$19.84B- $6.97B in Debt= ~$13B debt free + patents + NSN. Sharesout standing = ~4B. $3.25/share + NSN, profitable enterprise worth ~$4B at minimum, add a $1/share + add multiple (15-20X). Should open up a few bucks tomorrow--$6-8/share. Shorts are screwed.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Nokia will have $14B in cash. No debt. Still own patents, NSN and HERE. The question is what the value for NSN, patents and HERE. That's how much we spike today plus mad short covering. Could hit $7/share today.
Man, I hope you are calling this right. I would be ok with a double on my investment. Helsinki is sitting on a few hundred of milliions of short shares and US still is 200 million. Don't all shorts have to be covered in a sale like this? Hopefully they are margined too.
Microsoft is acquire just the device and services part of Nokia. It not buying the entire company! It given Nokia about $7 billion in cash for devices and services. Nokia will get the money not the shareholders.
its just a transaction, think of it this way. nokia will get rid of the worst part of its business for basically $2 a share. Shareholders will not get anything other than the re-vameped version of NSN and maps for around $4. Take a look at Nokia though, they have been around since mid-late 1800 and are a business created from making businesses and selling them and focusing on what they can do very well. These fins are smart, stay in. Who knows price might shoot up tomorrow but its still got limited downside.
