Absolutely - earnings for NSN, earnings for HERE. Some guidance in 3Q earning report on patent plans/licensing could prove most helpful.
Nokia has put HERE earnings back into HERE - sometime it would be nice for mapping to contribute some real profits to Nokia - we can hope we'll see this beginning 3Q.
Earnings are completely irrelevant. But what will be key is what do they open up about the strategy going forward? It may run into earnings just on expectation we will get some clarity.
are they shopping HERE?
will they do some acquisition in mapping?
acquisition in telecom ? if so is it an immediately accretive one like NSN? or is it a long term marketshare play (like ALU)..
what are the plans for return of excess capital and what timing?
how aggressively are they going to try to monetize IP?
the answers to those can take the stock to $8.00 if they are the correct ones before end of year... if they are bad answers I think we wont get past $7.00 till Q1 sometime
Its really about whether they either reinvest into the NSN business or strictly look to monetize. If they monetize this thing will rocket. reinvesting will just be seen as another vague use of capital that may or may not pay off someday....
I'm guessing that investors have (1) already priced into the PPS the removal of the drag of D&S on the bottom line; and (2) have already factored in the increased revenues/cash/profits from owning the entirety of NSN. So now, as you guys have pointed out, it's about what's to come. And I'm not entirely sure what's left to drive share price, now that there aren't "new hot devices" to anticipate, other than NSN numbers It seems to me future movement will depend on the deals the company makes for its HERE products, IP licensing, and NSN sales going forward. Meaning, a much more "boring" stock to follow...
This stock is also affected by the Euro-USD exchange rate. When the USD goes up relative to the Euro, the share price will go down a bit (all else being the same...). I have a feeling the opposite happened today, because the Euro was up against the Dollar.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I think it will be the story behind what there gonna do with the money if the give positive answers about the sale etc we will see 8 in a hurry then on to 12 just a matter of time. IF THEY SAY the right things! if not we languish here to 7.50 but i believe a floor has been established for the for seeable future. What do you think?.
