you may be right about Primestar. Stock is
holding well for such a down market today.
press et al makes it appear that Primestar has managed
to control the infamous slot, yet no definate news.
Announcement this morning regarding United Video was part of
all this Primestar deal. Primestar deal involves so
many other obscure companies, it's almost impossible
to keep track!
Don't know about wounded bird.
Someone posted earlier this week that we should have good
news Friday and even better next week.
You will probably get answers for all of your
questions tonight on Charlie Chat @9:00pm EDT on channel
The latest info I have is that E*4 has not fully
deployed its solar panels and they are still working it,
but it can (will?) work at partial capability due to
reduced power available.
The ability to downlink
to PC is a coming product from E*, not yet released.
I believe it is expected in the Fall. It is
reported to have speeds significantly above the DirectPC
option. However you will still need a local ISP so that
you can send out data. I chosen the Time Warner
(please forgive me*) RoadRunner cable modem which
downloads a page of data in a 'blink'. It was just
installed and I was not only impressed by the unit, but by
the professionalism (for the first time) of the two
TW technicians who did it...I guess competition
raises the bar!
* still need TW for local
channels...too close to town for Primetime E & W.
Also, what is the status on the anamolies for
EchostarIV. And the recent fines that Echostar recieved for
the 119 satellite being slightly out of position. In
addition on of our top executive's wife was fined for
insider trading. It looks as if Primestar an others are
trying to fine any detrimental info, to divert the DOJ
on future rulings. I look forward to DISHNET,
dominating the industry and our stock rising. Thks Allan
Does anyone know about the status of dishnet,
ability to provide webtv through the satellite. Phillips
magnavox has the ability with their reciever for a monthly
fee of only $19.99/mo. The cost of the reciever is
somewhere in the 3/400 dollar range.
Charlie sometimes lets thing slip too, letting
info out that other CEO's would balk at... Wish he was
my boss, appearance of honest and fair person. I
bought the system because of the family oriented
programming, did not have to use V chip until we got the
IFN/RC . Its good that the adult channels don't even
show up on the ,menu. You are right on the sports,
enough is enough!
