I've held this stock for several years and watched it fall from grace. I'm back in the green with the recent run-up, but I'm thinking of buying more at these prices. Seems like the "dark days" are over. Anyone think we'll see those 2008 / 2009 prices again any time soon?
I think MFC will get back to the 30's, but will most likely take two years of profits to do it. You may see a divy hike towards the end of the year, IF profits continue through the next 2 or 3 quarters.
Possibly. The company is leaner, has tons of captial but interest rates are still low. Assuming the economy continues to recover, interest rates should rise slowly. This combined with the large amount of capital *should* allow MFC to grow quite happily.
We shall see.
Yes., on two fronts, it is growing One, the stock market run up will have significant impact to its capital reserverd, Second, the approval of QFII in CHina will allow the purchase of foreign nvestment by public wll benefit multinational insurance wealth management. If you look at the rise of property price in Asia, you know a lot of real estate book value is underpriced. Sun life typically moves in parallel with Manulife, it has already back to its 29 dollar level, Technically, it is playing catch up and definitely on a break out of the resistance and has a very positive signal.
I've increased the holding on its rebound. It's last quarter report hs indicated 10,20,30 increase of equity would have significant impacts on its revenue. Since 75% of equity is hedged, there is large up side provablility, Don't miss this rising wave.
