A friend of mine says that Interactive Brokers allows US retail investors to buy foreign listed stocks.
Can a US retail investor actually arbitrage this? Buy in US and sell in Taiwan (or vice versa)
How would you actually convert IMOS (US) to IMOST (8150:Taiwan) or vice versa?
I do not plan to do this. But if this can be done with little or no difficulty then there should very little difference in the price of IMOS versus IMOST.
Maybe I am dreaming, but I can easily see IMOST trading at TW$30 in a few weeks and by extension IMOS will get pulled up (here in the US) to $20.4. Just from Taiwan analysts coverage and Taiwan investor demand due to better awareness about the company in Taiwan!!
I am not talking about the great fundamentals such as EPS or EV/EBITDA or great free cash flow or great guidance about business outlook or any such thing. Forget about all these positive fundamentals that other posters have said here before. That comes later!
That is over 50% up from current levels in WEEKS. Heck - 50% is a good return for me in 3 years - let alone weeks!!
