    Elesclomol, "miracle treatment"

    Hi all,

I'm not invested in SNTA yet, I'm invested in MEDX. I often check a forum for patient's who have melanoma called MPIP where there are great testimonies for MDX-010. I found the following which is a great testimony to SNTA and most importantly for the person who benefited from the drug:

I don't write often on this site, but I read every day, and have been deeply touched and inspired by many stories of survival and fighting with this aweful disease. I'm very pleased to be able to share my own (or my dad's, really), so that his story too might spread hope among others battling melanoma. My dad was diagnosed with a primary last April, June we discovered it had spread to three lymph nodes. After 1 month high dose interferon, we learned it had spread to spine, chest, and liver. Today, after 4 months of being on a trial of taxol + STA-4783 (elesclomol), my dad was declared in remission, disease free. we didn't even know how to respond, we still don't. I feel so lucky and so blessed, and most of all so happy to know that my dad will be around for my graduation, the birth of my first child, etc. I know how difficult this disease is to battle, and I'm praying that others on this site will be so lucky. You're all in my thoughts.. thank you again for spreading hope and inspiration, it has helped me through some of my darkest moments.

I also just want to add that the clinical trial my dad participated in is an ongoing multicenter trial. it is randomized (we must have been very lucky - 50/50 chance of getting the new drug in addition to standard chemo), but this new drug, elesclomol, seems to be a new miracle treatment. please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to share information about it.
